Harry Maguire has not triumphed since he came to Manchester United. The defender has been a non-starter for Erik ten Hag and the club would even be willing to pay 11 million euros to terminate his contract and end his time at the club.
Manchester United have seen some big changes since Erik ten Hag took the reins at the club. The English side have rekindled their identity with the Dutchman at the head of the campaign and he has clearly decided who features in his squad.
One of the names who hasn’t made the cut is defender Harry Maguire, who has not seen success in Manchester. After several costly errors and the arrival of better prospects like Lisandro Martinez and Malacia, the Englishman has seen himself riding the bench for most of the season.
Despite some positive words from Ten Hag, ‘Daily Mail’ reported that the Red Devils would be willing to pay the 11 million euros (£9.5 million) to terminate his contract and end his time with the club. It comes down to his expensive wages and lack of opportunities elsewhere.
The defender receives a salary of 220,000 euros a week (£190,000), and terminating his contract would make him a free agent and allow him to negotiate a lower salary with an interested team. No one can match his current salary at United it appears.
